The Intersection of Art and Music on Patreon

As you may or may not know, I create all the visual art for my albums and hand print a lot of my merch. Over the last year, I’ve learned to produce linocut prints and have created artwork for albums, singles, and just for fun. Whenever I paint, I try to remember to flip on a camera - whether that’s for a live video or a time lapse.

That random decision to see what would happen if I threw my camera into time lapse mode was an exciting lightbulb moment. Setting my time lapses to music was my next big lightbulb. And now, well… I’m not quite ready to share the next evolution of this legendary Pokémon, but suffice to say supplies have been ordered and plans have been made.

“But wait,” says the strawman reading this in confusion. “I haven’t seen any of these things! Where can I find them all?”

Well, for a while they were happening on Facebook and Instagram, and I still try to share them there as much as possible. There’s still a very boring video of me carving a gray block of linoleum and swearing everytime I stab myself floating around there somewhere. But more and more I’m trying to consolidate my posting to Patreon.

Patreon is a platform that lets me share music, art, videos, and even physical merch packages with the people who want them, and lets those people support me through a monthly subscription. Right now, you can access work tapes of previously released and yet to be recorded songs, get early access to up coming releases, and watch the 40 hours of work that went into my album art reduced to a mildly hypnotic 8 minute video.

If that’s something that interests you - whether it’s because you love the music or you just like me or your slightly stoned and feel like a water color time lapse would be chill AF - you can check out my Patreon page here.

Poke around, explore, and - if you like what you see - I hope you join me.

Wishing you well,

Melanie
